Morpheous is seeking a Railway Track Design Specialist to join its India team to assist with current and exciting future projects. We are looking for a professional who enjoy working with people in a multidisciplinary team environment and strive for excellence.

• Track Structure Design Review: Independently review, verify, and technically vet all DED outputs related to track structure, propose revised layouts and value-engineering options, formally communicate gaps/errors to Client and DED Consultant

• Design Compliance Verification: Review DED compliance with APD, DBR, Pakistan Railways standards, and design parameters (160 km/h, 25-ton axle load), verify adequacy and justification of all track components including rails, sleepers, fastenings, ballast/sub-ballast, blanket layer, and subgrade

• Special Trackwork Review: Review special trackwork including turnouts, crossovers, CWR welding plans, expansion joints, and transition zones

• PSC Sleeper Design: Conduct detailed review of PSC sleeper design including structural analysis, fatigue, dynamic loading, reinforcement, prestressing, and materials. Verify compatibility with existing manufacturing plants and identify required factory adjustments

• Constructability and Lifecycle Assessment: Assess constructability, maintainability, lifecycle costs, and operational performance. Evaluate safety, reliability, drainage adequacy, and climate-related risks

• Future Electrification Provisions: Ensure DED incorporates adequate lateral clearances on viaducts/bridges for future system upgrades. Review and confirm civil works include interface provisions for future catenary installation including space for signals, cable routing, and drainage systems

• Track Spacing and Clearance Verification: Verify DED adequately addresses track spacing and track gauge requirements ensuring compatibility with future rolling stock, operational safety, and maintenance needs. Review and identify existing obstacles that may encroach on required dynamic or static clearance envelopes

• Ballastless Track Assessment: Assess feasibility of implementing ballastless track systems in selected high-stress or maintenance-critical locations such as stations, depots, crossovers, and bridge approaches

• Turnout Alignment Verification: Verify turnout types are fully aligned with required operational speeds, axle loads, and signaling/point machine requirements

• Benchmarking and Gap Analysis: Benchmark design practices with regional and international railway systems. Assess design adequacy to accommodate modern freight operations including minimum 700-meter train lengths and corresponding loop/siding lengths

• Value Engineering: Identify gaps, inconsistencies, and omissions in DED. Develop value-engineering proposals, optimized layouts, and cost-efficient alternatives

• Coordination and Issue Resolution: Prepare coordinated comments matrix and facilitate issue resolution with DED Consultant. Upon Client instruction, carry out missing analyses, redesign, or optimization work to maintain project timelines
